I have four forthcoming books to be published by Incline Press over the next few years. I have completed work on the first two listed here, and work is ongoing on the other two.
'A Tour Around Southern Ireland in 1846' (Working title) is an anonymous manuscript by a Derbyshire Gentleman. Graham Moss and Kathy Whalen, of Incline Press, have followed his route, adding their own present-day impressions to his. I have contributed three multi-coloured linocuts depicting Irish landscapes including this one of Youghal lighthouse.
'A Charm of Magpies' will be a counting book to appeal to all ages. The text follows the traditional magpie counting poem which begins 'One for sorrow, two for joy' and finishes with 'ten for a bird you must not miss'. The series of editioned linocut prints can be viewed on the 'prints' page and the book, in addition, will feature four further vignette cuts and two specially designed patterned papers for the covers and end-papers.
'Red Herrings' will be a collection of nursery rhymes, selected by me, with an animal theme. It will be a large format book full of multi-coloured linocuts such as this one. My aim for the linocut illustrations is to capture the humour and surrealism of these familiar, and not so familiar, poems for children, and the book will again feature additional vignettes and patterned papers for the covers and end-papers.
'Bluebeard and Other Fairy Tales' will be a collection of fairy tales selected and illustrated with multi-coloured linocuts by me. It will contain my re-tellings of Bluebeard, Red Riding Hood, and Hansel and Gretel.
